6 things to do in Dubai this week

The Holy Month of Ramadan is here and Iftar is the time when family and friends come together to break their fast. This year, instead of the usual big buffets, why not try something a little different?

#ThisIsNotABuffet is a collaboration between Alserkal Avenue and Elements ACatering, a great team who urbanevents have been working together with for a long time. We trust them with our clients’ stomachs, they understand our passion for food and we have called on them to create bespoke menus like the special menu they devised using Kellogg’s products. More

If you're after something different for an iftar experience, this is a definite must this Ramadan. Not held in your typical opulent tent, #ThisIsNotABuffet is a pop-up food concept within a warehouse space in the yard of Alserkal Avenue.

You can break fast right in the heart of Dubai's creative community during this first of its kind Iftar, surrounded by some of the most prominent art galleries, design and community spaces in the city. The month long Iftar nights will run seven days a week until Eid, where the warehouse will take on a contemporary Arabian ambiance. The public will be able to enjoy an alternative dining experience with a specialised menu by Elements where patrons will be able to choose from two- and five-course menus ranging from Dhs90 to Dhs210. From lobster tacos, edamame hummus, avocado and vanilla & zartar caramel mini beef brisket shawarma - sounds drool worthy. More

Ramadan Kareem for when it arrives! This week there are lots of ways to embrace the Holy Month, with Iftars across the city. Dubai Sports World is back again with plenty of air-conditioned fun, while those who are into history should check out the Hareem Al Sultan exhibition at City Walk. More
